MÖTLEY CRÜE Guitarist Featured On DILANA Debut
October 15, 2009MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars contributed a guest solo to "InsideOut", the debut album from singer Dilana Robichaux, who is best known for her participation on the CBS reality show "Rock Star: Supernova". According to Dilana, Mars' solo "is blazing and we had too much fun doing it."
Due on November 17 via Kabunk! Records, "InsideOut" was produced by Dave Bassett and features NO DOUBT drummer Adrian Young. "Holiday" kick-starts the record, setting the pace (fast) and energy (lots of it). Dilana's gravelly voice and powerful delivery make her rock-star presence immediately known, and her vocal swagger is matched only by her lyrics. On the chorus of "Holiday" she sings: "Oh my life has changed/Like a holiday/Feels so damn good/Like Hollywood/I'm gonna, I'm gonna shove this life in your face/Gonna give you a taste."
Dilana, a deep-voiced fount of rock 'n' roll excitement, left her hometown of Johannesburg, South Africa a few years ago to escape what she has described as "madness and violence in the city," relocating to the Netherlands, where she became a local star, playing festivals and sharing a stage with Joe Cocker in front of 100,000 people.
Dilana, now a Los Angeles resident who still tours worldwide.
